Key west flats fishing report 5/25-5/26/13

The first day I fished with father daughter team Mike/Matty Ohear. The tarpon fishing had been tough on bait lately so I decided to go to a spot with barracudas and tarpon, Matty landed 2 cudas and the once again the tarpon did not eat. We hit a few spots before Mike added a very nice cuda to the tally, Matty was up next and she landed 2 lemon sharks. We had a few shots at permit but ended the day with 3 cudas and 2 sharks.
Day 2 I fished with John Maccron, We did not see any tarpon on the first spot but the second started great. We had 2 huge schools push through and a possible eat before before the flow just stopped. We found a few strings of fish but John finally got another eat with a group of 4 laid up fish. We took the day off and went out for the worm hatch, John hooked his first tarpon before the hate happened. We fought this fish for about 20 minutes before the 60 pound test frayed. The second fish ate during the thick of the hatch and we fought this fish for about 20 minutes, got the leader twice and finally bent the hook.
