Key west flats fishing report 3/15/13

On a very cold day here in Key west with an average water temperature of 63 degrees I fished with Casey and Ally Vaughn from Texas. The flats were devoid of life and we finally broke the skunk jig fishing in a 12 ft channel, channel fishing was slow with just a few fish being caught. I decided to hit 1 more flat that is usually good on the top of the tide, I polled half way through the flat before finally spotting 2 barracudas. Casey made a great cast and we ended up hooking up on 1 of the fish, it turned out to be a trophy 20+ pounder.
