Key west fishing report by Capt Anthony Skinner

Hurricane Isaac has past with very little damage but a whole lot of fanfare. This report is about a fishing trip around Big pine island that I took with Capt Peter Heydon. We started fishing the bottom of the tide on some white sand spots in search of bonefish. We spooked a permit first and moments later I hooked the first bonefish after missing my first shot. We landed and released this fish after fighting off a very determined lemon shark. Pete was up next and had several bones refuse his fly before we switched places. Another flat and I missed a shot at a pair of fish before hooking up on another nice bone, this one I landed and released, no problem with sharks. The tide shifted and started to rise and the fishing slowed down but I was able to land 1 more fish before we finished the day.
